Oh dear... oh dear oh dear oh dear!

Sorin was all in a tizzy as he walked a circle around the tent, silently sweating it out before the fairgrounds opened. He even felt a bead of cold sweat sliding down the back of his neck as he took a peek outside. Predictably there was a long line of people out there all waiting to have their fortunes told.

No, not people.

Women.

The thought of so many of them gathered in one place made him feel light-headed and dizzy. He had never been particularly good with women, Sorin. If he wasn't fumbling around in front of them, he was getting nervous and saying silly things. Sorin blamed it on having such a capable mother who, secretly, he was sure was ever so slightly disappointed in how he turned out. Meanwhile, his brother Marek was the golden child. It was Marek that these women came to see, with his handsome face and crisp fair hair and beautiful gleaming white smiles.

Unfortunately Marek came down with a violent case of food poisoning—but the show had to go on. And here Sorin was, standing in for him. He uttered a terrified sound as the line moved forward, and a girl headed his way. Sorin ran for his seat behind a circular table draped in red velvet. "G-good morning, madam," he said in his accented English. "Please be seated."
