- Josh has always known that he was different from the rest. Better. Superior. He comes from a distinguished line of werewolves and his family possesses one of the purest bloodlines. His father also happens to be a world-famous violinist and his mother is a well-known actress whose work brought them to America.
Josh himself briefly starred in two movies and filmed half a dozen commercials, all before the age of fifteen. In his late teens, he was part of a popular kpop group that toured the world, although the act later disbanded due to scandal (which surprisingly didn't involve Josh himself). Despite that, he still gets fanmail and sometimes people recognize him in the street as That Kid From The Toothpaste Commercial.
So yes--he's kind of a big deal.
Unfortunately, there are many problems which also accompany fame and fortune. For all of his insistence that he lives in a perfect world, Josh's home life is extremely tumultuous. His father is an alcoholic, resorting to drink to drown out the voices of critics who say that he is losing his skill. He has been out of work for the past year, as his alcoholism has gotten progressively worse. They moved to Hazleton where his father is undergoing rehab, but he has frequent relapses.
His mother has had at least five affairs in the past year, all with men significantly younger than her--almost closer to Josh's age. Some part of his own promiscuity was learned from her, and a lot of his egotistical self-serving act was inherited from his father, who was always simply too proud to apologize or admit to being in the wrong.
In his circle, Josh is widely acknowledged to be something of a career heartbreaker. Why? Because he can, that's why.
His legal name is Kang Taebin but he goes by Josh, since that's easier for people to pronounce. He loves anything musical and can, of course, play the violin. It gravely disappointed his father that he chose to pursue a degree in Classical Studies rather than music--this continues to be a matter of contention between them to this day and is the subject of many arguments. - Notes:
