- Hwang Ryeol served as a vassal to a great warrior during a turbulent time in Korea's history and was deeply in love with him. Their affair, however, was doomed to secrecy in their time and he suffered in silence until a celestial--an enemy of the Korean people, no less--bound him and caused his death.
When he became reborn as a Yin, he was forced to follow his celestial and traveled all around the globe with him, through distance and time, until they finally ended up in Hazleton. During that time and despite a rocky start, Hwang Ryeol became attached to the celestial but his heart still aches for his first love.
In his past life he used to be something of an energetic chatterbox.
