"Whatta jerk," Val laughed, even as he flinched while Ian stroked the hickies on his throat. Yeah, pain--not for Val. It was mild, but he didn't like it half as much as when it was being made--for whatever reason. Val really hadn't been joking when he said that he wasn't into that whole S&M thing. He didn't like being in pain and he didn't like making other people suffer. (Well, not intentionally.)

Lifting himself up slightly, he smiled down at Ian. Then he leaned down and nuzzled the tip of Ian's nose with his own, feeling good and secure and satiated. Safe. He felt safe, in his cocoon of drugs and afterglow, with the pretty rainbow crystals working their way through his system. Gently, he dropped a kiss against Ian's lips too, just because they were there.

"Bet you were a porn star before you became a drug dealer," he murmured--but only half jokingly--as he rolled part-way off, curling up beside Ian. The warmth of another human body felt nice in the moment. Ian was kind of interesting. Cocky as all hell, but he wasn't just empty promises and talk, the way a lot of guys on the streets were. Val traced a line up the side of his forearm, then down, stroking him absently.

What a cuddly little thing. Ian smiled as Val rolled away but curled up against him. With the drugs in his system--and the magic--he could tell that Val was on cloud nine, happily set adrift by the heady combination. Ian wasn't generally much of a cuddle-bug. He preferred to fuck and run, if he was honest. But he also liked playing with the new ones, so he ran a hand over Val's back, stroking his soft skin like he was a pet. (Which wasn't far from the truth to him.)

"I wasn't," he disclosed. "But I like to think I'd be good at if I was."

It seemed he wasn't the only one doing some petting. Ian looked down at the hand that idly stroked his arm. Yes, he was an affectionate thing but poor thing. He had no idea what he was really dealing with. Ian regarded him like a cat toying with a mouse. His hand moved back between Val's legs. Val was satiated but Ian, he could go over and over again once he glutted on a person's warm blood. Plus, it was a kind of torture, which amused him. How many times would he come back before he was completely hooked on Ian? It wasn't always easy to tell but Ian liked to gamble with himself.

"I'm your new dealer," he said with confidence. "You won't need another one now that you've met me."

Cuddling was an okay pastime but eventually, the novelty wore off. Sometimes, his arm fell asleep. Other times, it was just too damn hot to curl up together. If their bodies didn't fit together right, then it felt awkward. Basically, a lot of things could go wrong. This time, though, it was good. Was that just the drugs though? Val felt more affectionate than usual. He wanted to keep touching Ian, even if nothing more came of it (and at that point, Val was pretty pooped out).

"You'd probably be like... number one on pornhub," he laughed, arching his back into Ian's touch. Hm... felt nice. Even if he was being petted like a dog, Val didn't care. It felt good and that was all that mattered to him. He wasn't the kind of guy who needed to be all macho-manly about it. His pride was non-existent and he had no shame, so there was nothing in him to object to being objectified in the first place.

He did, however, let out a soft noise as a naughty hand slid low. Val eyed it, then looked back up at Ian, who seemed to be pretending that he wasn't doing anything dirty down there. Well. Okay then. Val's body stirred, but not fully to life; he was still sorta drifting back down from his former high.

"Oh yeah?" Val's tone of voice was airy, amused. "I mean, that's a little presumptuous though, isn't it? I'm not really a one-dealer kinda guy, that's just... like, too much commitment for me."

The stuff Ian gave him was good--oh, it was so, so good. Val could see himself getting hooked on it pretty quickly, especially if it came with--ah--perks like the hand between his legs. But he didn't want Ian to have that much power over him. He didn't want anybody to have that much power over him. So he wasn't going to let that happen, even if he had to fight this new addiction with other addictions.

Ian laughed softly. Oh yes, he would be number one, there was no doubt in his mind about that. (Even if Val was currently high and wouldn't know good sex from bad sex at this point.) He continued to smile as Val arched into his touch. That was it. Right there. Although... Val didn't seem entirely up to the task of basking in Ian's playfulness. No, he was looking at him like he couldn't fully believe that Ian was trying to rev his engines again. Ian looked back at him as innocently as he could manage. Then he tilted his head slightly.

"Is it? Too much commitment for you?" He studied him for a moment, continuing to touch him despite the way Val seemed to be trying to ignore it. Ian smirked and he was about to speak again when there were two loud knocks on his bedroom door. Letting out an annoyed huff, he called out, "I'm busy right now!"

The boy on the other side sounded somewhat strained as he called back, "S-sir, there's something happening with the vampires!"

Ian almost swore aloud. How many times did he have to tell them not to use that word around new "customers"?! He was about to scornfully tell the boy to leave when another knock came at the door, this one more demanding. A new voice joined the other one.

"Ian," he said urgently. "The Blood Ring's fractured!"

Ian sat up at that. "What?" Then remembering what he'd expressly taught his boys, he added, "Come in!"

"Stop," Val said as he tried to push Ian's hand away... but not too insistently. He didn't even sound annoyed. More like amused. This whole thing was sorta surreal, if he had to be honest. Meeting Ian through another drug dealer, coming here and eating rainbow rock candy, then having incredible sex with a man with the face of an angel... Yeah, it was like something out of a bad romance novel.

Well, good thing Val didn't believe in romance.

He was about to roll back over Ian—because fuck it, his ass already took a pounding and he might as well go all in, if Ian was getting all playful—when someone knocked on the door. Val made a small noise of dissatisfaction, curling up even closer to Ian. Whoever it was sounded pretty panicky, though, as they blabbed on about vampires. Val's eyebrows lifted. "Vampires?" He asked incredulously. "Shit, I'm not the only high person around here, am I?" Freaking vampires, seriously...

The doors opened, however, just as Ian sat up and shed Val, who was forced to roll away. He sat up slowly. Two really harassed-looking guys entered, scarcely paying attention to Val. "Ian, they've split. Half of them are taking the suburbs hostage, it's all over the news. Cops are everywhere. Wolves are joining them, it's a huge mess."

...that sounded sorta like Val's cue to leave. He slipped off the bed and went to find his clothes, not wanting to be involved in whatever they were babbling on about.

Really? Why couldn't his fellow vampires just keep things quiet and casual? Why did they have to decide to riot? Ian thought those days were behind him when he started choosing quiet little towns like this. They were close enough to larger communities so that he could bring people back here but quiet enough that he could carve out a life for himself and his pretty little collection. And now this. He frowned, not altogether happy about the news. He could tell the two standing in his doorway were worried that he was going to lose his temper but even if he did, they weren't the ones he wanted to take it out on.

Ignoring poor Val, he slid out of bed and quickly grabbed clean clothes to slip on. It wasn't until he started forward while buttoning up his shirt and one of the boys asked him about his current entertainment that he recalled Val. Eyeing him, he couldn't decide whether Val believed what he'd heard or not. He was high and he seemed highly skeptical regarding the supernatural. Even when Ian admitted to being a vampire, he'd taken it as a joke.

"Don't worry about him." He smiled at Val. "He was just leaving, wasn't he?"

"Yeah, sure. Seeya." Val waved a casual hand, already headed out the door--before being cut off by Ian and his two little whatevers. At that point, Val didn't much care. Vampires, uprisings, Blood Rings. None of that affected him and it all sounded like gibberish. If all of them looked serious and concerned about that kind of nonsense, Val wasn't in the right state of mind to take proper note of it.

It probably should have triggered all of the alarms--but it didn't. Thanks, rainbow rock candy.

He slipped out ahead of them, though not before giving Ian a little smirk of a smile--more smirk than smile.
