Unlike usual, Fiona didn't drag her feet. She gladly hopped out of bed and got ready for school, looking forward to the day ahead. As the first awake, she didn't have to answer any questions about the strange items she packed into her school bag.

When she arrived at the school gate there was still plenty of time until the bell rung. She waited around there for Sam, hoping that she wouldn't miss him. Ditching wouldn't be as fun without company, and she couldn't play all of the games by herself.

Until he had arrived she had mistaken someone else for him, and gotten a weird look. "Your loss," she mumbled as she drank from a juice box. Hopefully that sucker had gym.

Sam was generally what most people would have called a "good boy." He went to school, he got middling grades, he did his best at whatever he had to do... even if his skills were lacking. But today... today, Sam was going to be the Bad Boy. He was going to ditch school.

For some reason, the idea of it made him super nervous but excited at the same time. So when he approached the school gate, he was still trying to decide if he would really, actually go through with it. It wasn't until he saw Fiona that he made the decision. If she was going to, then so was he!

Quickly, he ran over to her, the way a kid might if they were running past their parents' room to sneak a snack in the middle of the night.

"Let's go!" he stage whispered, becoming antsy and feeling as if he had to suddenly use the bathroom. "Before somebody sees us!"

Fiona nodded. Quickly she sneaked down the halls with Sam, avoiding students and staff alike. Suddenly she stopped, before she could run into anyone. The weight of her bag caused her to wobble. She closed her mouth tight while she tried to steady herself. She signaled to Sam that someone was headed for their direction, and ducked into an empty room, taking him with her.

Once it seemed that the coast was clear, she crept out of the room, leading the way down to the AV room. Huh, maybe it was the better choice. She dropped her bag and made herself comfortable on a chair. They were so soft and cushy! "Did we lock the door?" she asked, looking back at Sam. It would have been lame if they had gotten caught in there. She pushed herself up and double checked that no one could see through the blinds.

After that she started to unpack; first food and drinks, lastly games. She cheerfully sipped from a juice box while gesturing to the games. Among them, Connect Four, Up Words, Battleship, and Monopoly.

"Lemme check."

Sam moved back over to the door to make sure it was locked. It wasn't so he quietly turned it over and made sure they were safe in hiding. Then he turned back to Fiona with a wide grin, hurrying back over to see what kind of food and snacks Fiona brought. He still couldn't believe he was doing this. It wasn't generally in him to do stuff like skip class but he couldn't say he didn't like it. Plus, it was time he got to know Fiona better.

Dropping down to sit across from Fiona, Sam pulled the games closer to see what she had brought. Then his grin grew as he placed Battleship on top.

"This one," he said. "For sure!"
